MobiFi Project Update May 2022
Most apps say “Here are some tools”. Games say “Here is how a human being is going to turn a set of tools into useful repeatable skills”.
Marketing and community reactivation
In May, we continued our weekly Twitter Space trial, which received much attention and interest from our community. We received both positive also constructive feedback to help us improve. We decided to make Twitter Space, i.e., MobiFi Friday a bi-weekly event, starting from June 10th, 2022.
We collaborated PozzlePlanet for a small campaign of #Impact2Earn, where people shoot a 10 seconds video of how they travel more sustainably on social media to create some impact. Our Australian community member Cris @8Bounty won the final prize!
Of course, the most exciting thing is the release of our NFT character — Alex. Alex is the first NFT character design we released. It represents a big group living in the city, i.e., city traveller. We will release a collection of Alex for free mint to allow everyone to use the MobiFi app to create some sustainable impact. More fancy, well-designed NFT character, i.e,. Last but not least, we were invited to join the biggest mobility conference MOVE next month. It’s an excellent opportunity for a web3 startup like us to be part of the “traditional” mobility innovators to add some web3 flavor to the future of mobility.
Product Update
We have completed 99% of the code refactoring, reduced unnecessary components, and made it stable. The team is doing some final deployment tests. A new version (with NL parking feature) will be pushed to the App store soon in 1–2 weeks. We will remove the whitelist to let everyone in the Netherlands have a try.
Please note that the NFT picture we used in development are just some samples; they are not the final NFT designs;P
In the meantime, we have developed a smart contract and a gamification backend to reward people based on parking activities. The buy and sell NFT function was also integrated with OpenSea. Rewards for walking are going to be added in the next two sprints. We understand the importance of rewarding by walking to get everyone into the game globally.
There is still some work that need to be done in the smart contract and rewarding mechanism. For example, minting use $MoFi token, MoFi to stable coin swap, NFT character level up using MoFi token, MoFi token burning when upgrading NFTs.
We had a bit of delay in releasing the on-street parking service in the Netherlands as more document is required from our government corporation partner to verify our status. We will keep everyone updated on that one.
